The school
A demanding bilingual school in Lyon, structured to open doors
46 years of expertise at the service of an ambitious project
New School is a private school under contract simple with the French state. It follows the national curriculum and adds a full bilingual program, ambitious supervision ratios, individual progress tracking and a school life built on PBIS.

A new institutional chapter
A historic bilingual school entering a new institutional chapter
Since 1979, New School has guided generations of children in a human-scale bilingual environment. Today, the school is part of a structured educational group that also runs EPIN, an institution regularly recognised among France's leading middle and high schools, whose middle school was ranked #1 in France by Le Parisien in 2026.
This new chapter reinforces what makes New School singular: a real bilingual model, a clear framework, an assumed academic ambition and serious preparation for the next stage of schooling.
An intuition that became continuity
When New School opened its doors in 1979
Bilingual primary education barely existed in France. A founding intuition: not to wait for middle school to expose children to English, and to do it seriously, from preschool, not as a separate subject but as a language of life.
46 years later, this intuition has become an evidence for many schools. For us, it remains an ongoing ambition: to organise bilingualism, measure it, sustain it, and embed it in a clear educational framework.

A new chapter
A historic school that structures itself and asserts its ambition
In recent years, New School has clarified its project, strengthened its teaching and leadership teams, repositioned its expectations, and placed education back at the centre.
A new chapter of structuring that consolidates the school's value without losing its human dimension.
A serious school is not a rigid school: it is a school that knows why it exists.
Our promise
Opening doors for the next stage of schooling
New School prepares children to continue their schooling in different environments: demanding private middle schools, the French public system, bilingual schools or international paths. The goal is not to lock the child into a single model, but to give them the academic, linguistic and personal foundations to move forward with several options open.

For whom?
A school for families who embrace its project
New School welcomes families who are looking for a real bilingual model, a clear school framework, a constructive relationship with the teaching team and an assumed academic ambition. Admission is not based on an available seat alone: it requires that the school's project, the child's profile and the family's expectations be aligned.
Joining New School is not only enrolling your child in a bilingual school. It is embracing a framework, a level of expectation and a way of working together.
