The school project
New School's school project is based on a strong ambition: to offer a caring, inclusive and forward-looking educational environment where each student can develop to the full. Our school project is based on three fundamental pillars - a sense of belonging, ecology and well-being - which structure our educational commitment. New School aspires to be a dynamic place of learning where every child finds their place and develops their full potential.
Building a strong sense of belonging
We want every student to feel welcomed, recognised and fully integrated into a community that is open to the world. This means :
- Diversity and appreciation of all cultures: Through intercultural projects, events such as International Day and exchanges with families, we celebrate the rich cultural diversity present in the school.
- Mastery of French as a common foundation : rigorous teaching of the French language, enriched by group projects (writing the school motto and anthem, debates to encourage students to speak out, etc.), enables students to structure their thinking and strengthen their written and oral expression.
- Encouraging multilingualism : The aim is to create an environment where exposure to languages is natural and valued, in order to encourage pupils to understand and listen actively.
- A shared school identity : A dress code, shared symbols, school festivities and objects in the New School colours all help to reinforce the feeling of being part of a collective.
- Civic involvement from an early age: Pupil roles (prefects, tutors), cooperation projects and solidarity actions enable children to become actively involved in the life of the school and to understand their role in society.
Educating people about ecology and environmental commitment
Ecology is not just another subject, it's a central theme in our educational approach. We raise students' awareness of environmental issues through a three-step progression:
- Eco-gestures in everyday life : Waste sorting, natural products, bin decorating competitions... Each class puts sustainable habits into practice in a fun and practical way.
- Openness to the outside world : Nature outings, 'outdoor classes', visits to shared gardens or protected areas give pupils a lively way of discovering biodiversity and strengthening their connection with living things.
- Long-term citizen action : Pupils take part in practical projects in their local area (cleaning up, planting vegetation, etc.), working with local partners to learn how to become eco-responsible citizens.
This cross-curricular approach combines science, mathematics, geography, visual arts and moral and civic education, to provide a lasting basis for learning.
Promoting well-being at the heart of the school
Because learning can only flourish in a calm climate, New School places the well-being of its students and staff at the heart of its project. Several levers are activated:
- The development of bilingualism : exchanges with English-speaking schools, theatre in English, immersive activities... Language learning takes place in a lively and rewarding environment.
- Food and health : Workshops with a nutritionist, monthly breakfasts, improved snacks and meals: we are helping children to adopt better eating habits.
- Physical activity and managing emotions : Muscle awakenings, outdoor games, meditation, relaxation areas... Everything is done to encourage physical and emotional balance.
- A fluid and supportive internal organisation: Better circulation of information, structured welcome for new arrivals, cycle and project coordinators... The school is designed to be a clear, structured and reassuring place.
- An inclusive environment: An enriched library, an infirmary, rest areas and festive moments shared throughout the year encourage cohesion, respect and the pleasure of learning together.
This school project is aligned with the objectives of the French national education system. It embodies our desire to combine academic excellence, personal fulfilment and active citizenshipThis is a school where every child is encouraged to give the best of themselves, while respecting others and the world around them.
