The operation of private bilingual primary schools
Like state schools, private bilingual primary schools cover classes from nursery to CM2.
Some private primary schools are under contract with the state, while others are not. A public school with a state contract receives subsidies and must follow the official curriculum of the French Ministry of Education. What's more, teachers regularly take tests organised by the Éducation Nationale.
Private primary schools under contract and not under contract
A distinction must be made between private primary schools under contract and private primary schools not under contract. Non-contracted private primary schools may not follow the national education curriculum or may follow it differently.
The state does not subsidise non-contracted public schools; most of their tuition fees are privately funded. Their only obligation is to ensure that pupils progress on a common foundation of skills, knowledge and culture.
The private primary schools under contractincluding New school receive subsidies from the State to pay teachers and fund activities linked to the national education curriculum. The school fees paid by parents finance activities that are not part of the official curriculum, as well as certain equipment. Tuition fees at a private primary school under contract with the French state are much more affordable than at a non-contract school. There are also schools under "simple" contract, in which only the classes under contract allow their teachers to be paid by the state.
The advantages of a bilingual private primary school
The curriculum of a public school under contract is the same as that of a state school.
At New School, teaching the 2th is taught by native speakers or English speakers. Each of our teachers has a specialisation specific in the field of language learning.
Supervision is also an essential part of our educational project, both during and outside lessons. We offer children after-school support to help them make progress (supervised study).
This means that children can develop in an environment that is conducive to comprehensive and varied learning.
New School attaches particular importance to a healthy, balanced diet. We prepare meals for our canteen with organic or locally produced products.
