At New School Lyon, we believe in the importance of opening the doors of cultural discovery to our students. This October, we're immersing ourselves in the excitement and mystery of Halloween, a festival rooted in American culture.
The origins of Halloween in the United States
Although Halloween With its Celtic and European roots, the United States has helped to popularise this festival throughout the world. The American tradition of Halloween dates back to the 19th century, when Irish and Scottish immigrants brought their Samhain customs to America. Over the decades, the festival has evolved into the event we know today.
Creative costumes
One of the most emblematic features of Halloween in the United States is the tradition of costumes. At New School Lyon, our students have the opportunity to slip into the shoes of their favourite characters, be they superheroes, monsters, princesses or even historical figures. Not only did our students dress up in their costumes, but they also had the opportunity to proudly show them off during our Halloween Fantasy Parade!
The Fantastic Halloween Parade
The New School Lyon Halloween Fantasy Parade is the highlight of our celebration. Our students and their teachers are invited to take part. The corridors of our school are transformed into a parade of fantastic creatures, superheroes and imaginary characters.
